Meet the 2018 Higher Education Recipients!

The Awards for Higher Education are one way that Manchester Unity Friendly Society can make a difference in assisting both members and the children of members to a difference in their lives and maybe even the community.

The Winners for the 2019 year are….

Mason Lowe

I am looking to go to Massey University in 2019 to study a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, pre-selection. I chose to study this because I’m interested in the welfare of animals, and how I can use learned skills to help them. In the future I aspire to be a general practicing veterinarian.

Anton Bessling

In 2019 I will start my Degree, Majoring in Mathematics, and Minor in Chemistry, at Massey, in Palmerston North. These will be followed by a diploma in secondary school teaching.

I will continue to pursue running at a competitive level, as I would like to represent New Zealand.

Sara Dooney

In 2019 I will be studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) at University of Canterbury. I would like to major in either of the Chemical and Process or Mechanical disciplines of the degree. In the future, I am particularly interested in developing products and processes that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Hollie Unwin

In 2019 I will be studying First Year Health Sciences at Otago University. I then hope to gain entry into the medical programme and study to become a doctor,
eventually specialising in Psychological Medicine and pursuing a career in Psychiatry.

I have always gravitated towards Medicine as a future career as I am passionate about both science and improving the lives of those around me.
