In November 2018 a van load of Nelson members spent the weekend in the West Coast. On Saturday, members drove south, from Nelson to Hokitika. First stop was the National Kiwi Centre in which we time it perfectly and arrived to see the Eels, Kiwi and Tuatara get fed. After lunch the group drove to see the magnificent Otira Viaduct alongside the friendly locals (a Kea) followed by a stop at Otira Hotel which is stuffed inside and out with interesting objects.
In the evening we met the local Westland members for a meal at Union Hotel in Greymouth. This was a great chance for everyone to catch up. Following the dinner IPGM Bro John Simpson presented a member with their 50 year certificate and updated all members on MU matters.
